Purchased 12 resin street planters to add to the original Village owned 12 planters by writing a grant through the Cattaraugus County Economic Tourism Development, and with the financial assistance of: the Inkwell, Giardini Bros., Allegany Library, Duggan and Duggan, Martin Studios, Janet Cotillion and the Village of Allegany.

 

Became a Not for Profit 501-C3 through the generous support of Iroquois Insurance and gratis services of Garrett Lyons.

 

Provide “Free and open to the Public” ongoing educational lectures 1x a month May-Sept on gardening related topics through member dues only.

 

Created a “Flower and Garden Festival” as a fundraiser, to promote tourism and support local businesses.  Grant writing to supplement festival advertising costs.

 

Financially contributed to larger watering system through both member donations and community donations.

 

Purchased a “Little Free Library” to provide Community involvement and tourism. Location: Town Hall.

 

Contributed towards the lighting project of the Allegany Library: Assisted in grant writing with Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation.

 

Purchased outdoor seating for several local restaurants to assist with 2020 Covid related restrictions on restaurants.

 

Created “Scarecrow Row” to promote local businesses, and increase foot traffic in keeping with our mission of creating a “Walkable Community.”
